Caribbean Cruise
1 1/2 Bacardi
1 1/2 Malibu
4oz Pineapple Juice
1 tsp Grenadine
Shake all ingredients with Ice
Strain into a Collins glass with Ice
Garnish with a Pineapple Wedge
Coconut and Pineapple, that is all that I can tell you about this cocktail! The rum has a very subtle role in this drink, it barely even shows, it only in the minutes after you swallow that you are left with a rum flavour.

Singapore Sling Cocktail
The Mash Bill:
1/2oz Cherry Herring
1oz Gin
1/4oz Cointreau
1/4oz Dom Benedictine
1/3oz Grenadine
1/2oz Lime Juice
4oz Pineapple Juice
Dash Angostura Bitters
The Work Order:
- Fill shaker with Ice
- Pour all ingredients
- Shake
- Strain into Collins Glass
- Serve
My Thoughts:
It’s not as artificially red as many Singapore Slings I have seen, maybe just due to the type of grenadine that I used. The sling gives of an aromatic aroma, due to the bitters, which makes it smell similar to a Lemon, Lime and bitters. There is a sweet, yet sour flavour that accompanies the pineapple in the drink, this is the dominant flavour. Hints of cherry are noticeable in the after taste, there is no real alcohol flavour to the drink, the gin, while strong and aromatic is well hidden.
A refreshingly fruity cocktail and one I will definitely make again in the future.

The Sweetheart Cocktail
The Mash Bill:
1 1/2oz Pinky Vodka
1oz Simple Syrup
3/4oz Lemon Juice
1/4oz Campari
1 Small Egg White
1/4oz Grenadine
The Work Order:
- Fill Shaker with ice
- Pour all ingredients, except the Grenadine
- Shake
- Strain into Cocktail Glass
- Drizzle Grenadine and wait for it to settle on the bottom
- Serve
My Thoughts:
A bitter/sweet cocktail, it has sweet notes from the Vodka, Simple Syrup and grenadine, while the campari and lemon juice help balance the drink.
Im not a big fan of Campari, however it was skillfully masked in this cocktail, with only a dull hint of it left in the aftertaste.

Strawberry Pink Cocktail
A sweet vodka based cocktail created for Aug 09′s Mixology Monday.
The Mash Bill:
2oz Pinky Vodka
1/2oz Simple Syrup
Grenadine (Homemade POM Wonderful!)
4 Strawberries
Sprig of Mint
The Work Order:
- Muddle 3 Strawberries, the Mint and the Simple Syrup in your tin
- Pour Vodka, and Fill tin with Ice
- Shake
- Double Strain into a Cocktail Glass
- Garnish with a Strawberry and a Drizzle of Grenadine
My Thougths:
A spur of the moment decision to put a recipe into this months MxMo led me to finding a rather nice cocktail that my girlfriend will love.
The drink is semi sweet on top, and progressivly gets sweeter as you finish the drink, the strawberry flavour from both the fruit and the Pinky Vodka shows through, with the refreshing flavour of the Mint.

6 oz Sprite
The Work Order:
1. Fill Highball Glass with Ice
2. Pour Vodka, Blue Curacao, Sweet And Sour Mix and Grenadine
3. Stir

My Thoughts:
A strange flavour, it tastes similar to grape soda, There isnt much of a peach flavour bur the drink is slightly acidic in its attack on your throat.
This is probably one I wont make again

Brass Fiddle
The Mash Bill:
2oz Peach Schnapps
3/4oz Whisky
2oz Pineapple Juice
1oz Orange Juice
1oz Grenadine
Ice
The Work Order:
- Fill shaker with Ice
- Pour All Ingredients into the tin
- Shake
- Strain into Hurricane Glass filled with ice
- Serve
My Thoughts:
A very red drink, there is alot of Grenadine in this cocktail, which also makes it kind of syrupy.
I didnt have orangejuice, so I squeezed some mandarines, this gives the drink a really nice flavour, I also garnished the drink with a few mandarin pieces.
The drink itself is very sweet and syrupy. The main things you can taste are the Peach, Pineapple and a little orange/mandarin, there is no trace of the whiskey at all.
Overall, the drink is a bit to sickenly sweet for my taste, I would put this down to the 1oz of grenadine, if you cut this back to 1/2 or 1/4oz and increased the orange juice, I would think that this drink would be much better.

Independance Shooter
The Mash Bill:
2/3oz Grenadine
2/3oz Peach Schnapps
2/3oz Blue Curacao
The Work Order:
- Pour Grenadine into shot glass
- Layer Peach Schnapps
- Layer Blue Curacao
My Thoughts:
4th of July was a few days ago, and Im only just getting a chance to post this shooter, and while Im not American, my girlfriend’s family is, so I thought I would make some
‘patriotic’ cocktails for the lead up to the 4th.
This was supposed to be ‘red, white and blue’ (in that order) but it turned out ‘red, blue and white’ even though the blue curacao was higher in alcohol content than the peach schnapps. I also made a mess of the layering, thin 2oz shot glasses are not the best glasses to use, try a shorter, wider shot glass.
The shooter was thick, and syrupy, and did not really have any kind of alcohol flavour. You could taste the Peach Schnapps and the Grenadine, but not the blue curacao.

Gin Rickey
The Mash Bill:
2oz Gin
1/4oz Grenadine
1/4oz Lime Juice
1/4oz Lemon Juice
Soda Water
Lemon/Lime Wedges to garnish
Ice
The Work Order:
- Fill Highball glass with Ice
- Pour Gin and Grenadine
- Mix with barspoon
- Pour Lemon and Lime Juices
- Top with Soda Water
- Garnish with Lemon/Lime Wedges
- Serve
My Thoughts:
As you sip the drink, the first flavour that you get is the bitter, citrus goodness of the freshly squeeze lemon and lime juices, as these flavour fade, there is a brief moment of sweetness before the Gin’s botanical flavours become more apparent. The soda water gives the drink a little fizz, I think if lemonade for the Soda, this would be a much sweeter drink that I would enjoy more, This drink leaves a dry aftertaste in your mouth.
This one reminds me of a Tom Collins, but its sweeter with far less of a lemon flavour.
