Review
I decided to review this ‘On The Rocks.’
When I took a whiff out of the top of my glass, I was surprised to find that there was no harsh alcohol burn in my nose. In fact there is very little smell, I can honestly only detect a hint of honey and a smoky, peat fragrance. Sniffing a second time, maybe that honey smell is more like maple, a spiced maple.
Johnnie walker black is a light golden yellow, not the darkest of the scotches I have seen, but not the lightest either.
Swishing the scotch around in my mouth, there is a lot of sweet, smoky and peppery flavours. A slightly wooded flavour, what I imagine to be age old wood to taste like, cindering. There was not a lot of alcohol flavour, a tiny bit in the after taste, but not enough to make me screw my face up or anything
The spirit is smooth and slightly viscous in texture, and leaves a slight warmness in your throat after you take your last sip.
